Arguably one of the largest flight schools that provide accelerated training is Airline Transport Professionals, more commonly known as ATP. With 23 training centers around the country, ATP offers a variety of programs, most of which focus on accelerated training. The school's primary program is its airline career pilot program, which can take students from zero experience to being a commercial pilot and flight instructor in as little as 150 days. After completing the program, students may be hired as instructors at the school. Individual ratings can also be obtained in short amounts of time.
Flight Safety Academy in Vero Beach, Florida, also offers an accelerated flight training program. Flight Safety offers several different tracks, depending on career ambition: airline pilot track, business jet direct tack or flight instructor track. The Flight Safety program takes students with little or no experience to a commercial rating in 56 weeks. The program focuses on creating professional pilots. Flight Safety is also a highly regarded provider of training in commercial and corporate aircraft at its 40 simulator facilities around the world.
Formerly known as the Delta Connection academy and based in Sanford, Florida, Aerosim Academy is another training provider that offers accelerated training. From its schools in Orlando and Houston, Aerosim offers to turn students into a flight instructor in about 12 months. Upon completion of training, students may be hired as flight instructors. Aerosim also has programs with colleges in Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, that integrate flight training--albeit at a slower pace--with a two- or four-year college degree.
American Flyers is one of the oldest providers of flight training in the United States and is geared more toward recreational and private fliers. From its seven training centers, American Flyers' method lets students study at home prior to coming to one of its training centers, where they quickly go through flying lessons and finish ratings. American Flyers also offers its "finish-up" programs for students who are almost there and need to finish in a few days. The school offers a variety of options, depending on need.
