The Rustamji Institute of Technology (RJIT) in Gwalior, Madya Pradesh State, is India’s first engineering college to have been started by a paramilitary organization, the Border Security Force. Since so many of the members of the BSF are deployed far from home and cannot oversee their children’s education themselves, the Border Security Force education fund created the institute. RJIT provides those children with a chance to earn a technology-oriented higher education.
