Top European Engineering Schools

Engineering is a popular field of study worldwide and is taught at some of the world's most respected academic institutions. Although the United States holds a large number of the world's top engineering institutions, Europe also boasts many of its own. The Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings 2009 was the collaborative endeavor of two British institutions, the weekly publication Times Higher Education and Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd. The list is recognized worldwide as the foremost university ranking system and lists five European schools among the world's top 15 engineering institutions.

It is the only British institution ranked in the world's top five engineering institutions. The university is ranked generally as the second best university in the world.
