List of Universities in Mexico

With more than 500 public and 700 private universities, Mexico has much to offer students seeking an education there. Mexican bachelor's degrees are called licenciaturas and take four to five years to complete. The most recognized schools offer advanced educational opportunities beyond these degrees, up to the doctorado (Ph.D).
  1. Universidad del Noreste

    • Universidad del Noreste's bachelor's and master's degrees include early childhood education, psychotherapy, health, digital design and psychology. Founded in 1970, it was one of the first private universities established in Tamaulipas.

    Juarez Autonoma de Tabasco

    • Universidad de Juarez de Tabasco,also known as UJAT, began in 1879. It is a public university established in Villahermosa, Tabasco. Bachelor's and master's degrees are available in disciplines that include agricultural sciences, biological sciences, education and arts, health, engineering, architecture, computer systems, basic sciences, economics and administrative sciences. This university has a rich history and has been a solid part of the culture of Tabasco. Benito Juárez García founded the university when he was president of Mexico.

    Panamericana Sede México

    • The Universidad Panamericana Sede México began in 1967 as a business school. It later evolved into a university with the merging of two schools: Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas and Instituto Panamericano de Humanidades- IPH. This private, Catholic university offers theology as one of its disciplines. Today the university offers over 16 undergraduate programs, including administration, health, communication, law, engineering, philosophy and psychology.

    Universidad Veracruzana

    • The Universidad Veracruzana (University of Veracruz) was established in 1944 and is a public university. The university has schools all over the southeast Mexico. It has 32 in Xalapa, 13 in Veracruz, and another 13 in Poza Rica. Degree programs are in biology, arts, agriculture, health, economics, education, business administration and liberal arts programs.
