List of Recognized Universities in the UK

Universities in the United Kingdom have an enviable reputation for providing quality higher education. To maintain this quality, only government-authorized universities and colleges are permitted to award degrees. Such institutions allowed to offer degrees under their own awarding powers are known as Recognised Bodies. Those awarding under the authority of another institution are called Listed Bodies. The UK Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS) maintains a list of all recognised UK universities.
