University of Applied Sciences

• This school's bachelor of arts architecture course requires an 'abitur' for entry. This is the German prerequisite certificate for university. Alternatively, candidates can sit an admission test or a creative aptitude test. The bachelor's degree program lasts for six semesters. Candidates wishing to enroll to earn the Architecture/Environmental Design M.A., lasting four semesters, must hold a relevant degree or have worked in a planning office or in an architecture office, or must sit a creative design aptitude test. The International Degree Course in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering lasts for seven semesters and the award is a bachelor of engineering (B.Eng.)

University of Stuttgart--Stuttgart School of Architecture

• The Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning contains 15 institutes covering different areas of study, including the Institute of Building Construction, Institute for Computer Design and the Institute for Spatial Concepts and Principles of Design. Approximately one quarter of the students have traveled from Europe and non-European countries. The curriculum looks at technical skills, artistic design, the economics of building and architecture's impact on society. The faculty presents one of the most comprehensive programs in the Federal Republic. Students can enroll for an eight-semester international bachelor's degree. Candidates must prove a proficiency in the German language.

Dessau Institute of Architecture

• The Institute offers a master of architecture program, delivered in the English language, over two years that results in an internationally accredited degree. Students on this course come from more than 30 countries. The German Academic Exchange Program has awarded a record number of scholarships for the program, and students have won architectural prizes in prestigious competitions. Dessau specializes in teaching the place of digital media in architecture and planning for a sustainable environment. Teaching staff members come from across the world, and the Institute is a member of the American Collegiate Association of Architecture Schools (ACSA). Studies include Landscape Architecture, Business Management and Spatial Planning.
