Yale University ranked number six in the clinical psychology rankings for 2008 by the "U.S. News and World Report." Yale offers an APA-accredited Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) clinical psychology program, which emphasizes research in both academic and applied settings. The program does not have any specific concentrations, but students develop their own programs that fulfill department requirements and allow them to tailor their education to their own needs. Even though Yale's program is designed for the scientist-professional, clinical opportunities are available to work with both children and adults.
Yale operates several practicum-training sites, including the Yale Anxiety and Mood Service, Yale Parenting Center, as well as the Child Conduct Clinic. Full-time study for a year costs $33,500, but doctoral students receive stipends and full tuition fellowships that cover the cost.
