The university offers 20 different majors, and the curriculum is continually shaped by the ongoing research conducted at MSU. It offers various centers for research, including the Institute for Research in Mathematics and Science Education, the Education Policy Center at MSU, the Literacy Achievement Research Center, the Confucius Institute at MSU, the Center for Teaching and Technology and the Institute for the Study of Youth Sports.
