The School of Education at the University of Michigan (UM) in Ann Arbor is the top-rated education school in the state, as well as the 14th highest rated school of education in the nation, according to the 2009 U.S. News & World Report rankings. Located in East Lansing, Michigan State (MSU) is ranked No. 17 nationwide for its overall education program. One of the hallmarks of the MSU College of Education is a five-year curriculum that allows future teachers to obtain their bachelor's and master's degrees simultaneously. Nearly all education majors at MSU take advantage of this popular curriculum.
