Oregon Colleges for Education

According to "U.S. News & World Report," the state of Oregon offers a wide range of colleges and universities with degrees in education for undergraduates and graduate students. General, administrative and specialized or concentrated studies are available.
  1. The University of Oregon

    • The University of Oregon in Eugene ranked fifth best in the United States for degree programs in education. The college of education offers concentrations in four fields of study: counseling psychology and human services, education studies, educational methodology, policy and leadership, and special education and clinical studies. Undergraduate and graduate degrees, including a Ph.D., can be earned in education from the University of Oregon at Eugene.

    Oregon State University

    • Oregon State University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in education. Undergraduate degrees are generalized at Oregon State, but master's degrees are generalized. Oregon State ranks very high in several areas and offers education majors the opportunity to combine majors. Fields of studies ranked highly at Oregon State include conservation biology, forestry, agricultural sciences, ecological engineering, plant pathology and exercise and sport science. Oregon State is located on a 400-acre campus in Corvallis, Oregon, south of Portland.

    Western Oregon University

    • Western Oregon University is a small institution by comparison with other colleges in Oregon offering education degrees. There are around 4,500 students who attend two colleges, the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Education, making up roughly half of the student body seeking degrees in education. Western Oregon is known for its Teaching Research Institute and its Resource Center on Deafness, so it is a magnet for certain areas of study in special education. Western Oregon University is located in Monmouth, Oregon, in the northwestern region of the state.

    Eastern Oregon University

    • Eastern Oregon University has a formal commitment to the rural, or eastern, part of Oregon State. The university offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in education as part of its pledge to support the public schools of rural Oregon. According to the university, approximately half of its students will graduate with a multidisciplinary degree in education. Eastern Oregon University is located in LaGrande, Oregon, on 110 acres in the Blue and Wallowa Mountains.
