Colleges in Tennessee That Offer Teaching

Becoming a teacher, whether for pre-kindergarten or secondary school, is a rewarding career choice. Teachers require a specialized education with an emphasis on liberal arts coupled with specific courses in the specialty field that is chosen. All education students in Tennessee must have a semester of student-teaching practice to graduate. The "Teach Tennessee" program offers incentives to students who choose an accelerated degree program and agree to teach in "high-need" programs. The federal government also offers an incentive to education-degree students in the form of forgiving a portion of their tuition.
