How to Get University Credits for Educational Travel

One way to gain experience in your desired career choice is to travel during college. While traveling, you may participate in a work program or class that you can also claim for college credit. There are a variety of ways to take advantage of educational travel credits, but you must work with your college or university to assure you get the credit you earned. You may need proof of educational experience such as references, or you may need to write an essay explaining the work completed.

      Participate in a study-abroad program set up through your college or university. These programs generally focus on an area of study such as architecture or fine arts. Do research on which country is best for your future endeavors. Submit an application, which often requires a personal statement and recommendations. When you complete the course, the credits will automatically transfer to your home college.
