The Accuplacer test provides an idea of college-bound student's level of ability in reading, writing and math. Given to students without SAT or ACT scores, the Accuplacer test scores help a college determine the correct placement for freshmen or returning adults. All colleges provide the test and the admittance office of the school informs the student as to whether the test is needed. If the student has not attended school in a number of years, a review of basic skills will help prepare him for the Accuplacer test.
