Ask for a preparation packet from the college you are applying for. Many colleges and universities that administer the Accuplacer provide basic information about the test.
Visit the College Board website and print Accuplacer sample questions. Answer the questions and use the answer key to score your results. An initial assessment will help you determine what areas of the test you need to improve on.
Review the subjects you found most difficult in the sample questions. For example, if you had trouble with arithmetic on the Accuplacer, practice division and multiplication with fractions.
Practice writing an essay defending a point of view of your choice. Develop a 300- to 600-word essay with clear arguments, making sure to support your ideas with examples. Proofread your essay for any spelling or grammatical mistakes and correct them.
Eat a light meal and get enough sleep prior to the test.
Take your time through the test. There is no time limit on the Accuplacer.
