Take practice tests. From the UVU website, go to the Accuplacer page to access previous Accuplacer tests from other universities. Sample tests are available from Dallas County Community College, Tacoma Community College, and Georgian Court University. Work through these tests for an idea of what to expect on the UVU exam. Sample test questions are also available on the CollegeBoard.com website.
Read Accuplacer tips. Go over test taking tips to be prepared on the day of the exam, accessible from the UVU website and CollegeBoard.com. There are four pages filled with advice including using the process of elimination when you are unsure of an answer and putting plenty of thought into each multiple choice question since these are not timed. The Accuplacer is an adaptive test, so when you answer a question, the next question is chosen based on your previous answer. With this style of testing, you must provide an answer before advancing to the next question.
