Print off a copy of your class schedule, and laminate it for durability. Slide this into the clear window display on the front of the binder so you can see it without opening your binder.
On the dividers, label one tab for each of your classes, starting with the first class of the day. Use the pocket on the divider for printed materials from the class, such as a syllabus or handouts. Put a small sheaf of notebook paper behind each divider for notes or assignments.
Attach a pencil bag inside the binder. Find a bag that is clear for an easy view of what is in the bag, and make sure it has three holes so it easily fits in the binder. Fill the bag with pens, pencils and a pencil sharpener. If you have any math classes, add a calculator, protractor, ruler, compass and any other subject-specific items.
Insert a three-hole punch designed to fit inside a binder. With this, you can quickly punch holes in any assignment that you need to place behind the appropriate divider.
Place a monthly calendar inside the back display window of the binder, and use it to keep track of holidays, special assignments, tests and other important dates. Place a weekly calendar inside the binder, just before the very first divider. Use this to record daily assignments, and highlight them when you complete them.
