Go to the FAFSA PIN website (see References). This website is different from the general FAFSA website and has all the information specifically pertaining to your FAFSA PIN.
Select "Request a Duplicate Pin" on the menu of choices on the left side of your screen.
Answer the three challenge questions required to reset your FAFSA pin. You can manually type in the answers, but the PIN website suggests using the virtual keypad to protect your identity.
Select "Submit Request," then answer the challenge question that appears on the next screen. Once your challenge question is answered correctly, select "Submit Request."
Double-check the address and contact information on file as displayed on the screen to make sure it is correct, then scroll down to select the format in which you'd like to receive your PIN. You can choose to have your PIN displayed immediately on your screen (the "Display Now" option), emailed or sent via postal mail.
Select the "Submit Request" button.
