UAE University ranked number one in the UAE and number 13 in the Arab world, according to the Web Ranking of World Universities. Founded in 1976, it now has more than 12,000 students. Located in the city of Al-Ain, it provides undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business, Science, Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture, Information Technology, Education and many other fields. It has male and female students, though the female population is almost four times larger than the male population. It has more than 600 faculty members, international students from around the world, scholarships available for all of its programs, technology-centered classrooms and research opportunities available in all of its departments.

It offers graduate studies in Education, Health Care and Business. Established in 1998, Zayed University is English-speaking, except in Islamic and Arabic studies courses, and ranks 2nd in the UAE. The university was founded to provide affordable, well-rounded education to women, but it now also accommodates male students. It currently has more than 5,000 students between its three primary, gender-specific campuses. It provides a wide range of scholarships to international students and UAE residents.
Established in 1988, this group of 16 universities has the highest student enrollment and most programs of any University within the UAE. HCT has campuses in all the major cities, including the smaller western cities of Madinat Zayed and Ruwais. It offers all levels of undergraduate and graduate degrees and specializes in Engineering, Health, Information Technology, Business and Applied Communications. The Higher Colleges of Technology have more than 80 separate programs, and the primary language of instruction is English. In 2009, HCT ranked 3rd in the UAE and 17th in the Arab world. It have more than 18,000 enrolled students, of whom 11,000 are women. The system provide scholarships for UAE residents and international students.
