How to Sign Up for the RDA Exam

Signing up for the Registered Dental Assistant, or RDA, exam can be completed online or via regular mail. Prior to registering you should check your states prerequisites for taking the exam; some states require you to complete training before you can take the exam offered by the American Medical Technologists. Training programs also vary among states; some allow on the job training while others require a formal curriculum. It is also necessary to have your Cardio pulmonary resuscitation, CPR, certification, prior to registering. Once you have all the requirements met, you can fill out and submit your application.

      Complete the educational requirements for your state. The American Medical Technologists states, some dental assistants receive on-the-job training while others complete dental assisting programs.

      Download the application from the American Medical Technologist website. Complete the application by providing your name, address, social security number, date of birth, email address and telephone number.

      Check the appropriate box under "Eligibility." Include your employment and training information on the application. Add a reference from a health care provider.

      Read the agreement section outlining the testing and cancellation terms. Sign and date the application.

      Write your payment information on the application. Enter your credit card information or mark the box indicating check or money order payable to AMT.

      Submit the application, a copy of your cardio pulmonary resuscitation, CPR, certification and payment to:
