Read the stylebook recommended by your professor or college. Seek out sections that specifically address how to cite books. As a scholar you cite all works you used in your research. This adds to the integrity and professionalism of the finished product.
Examine and write out the format presented on how to cite a book. This will be your format for the Kuhn information. There are several style-guides. Some use different ways to cite books. For example, in APA format and style, the format for a single author book is: Author, A. A. (Year of publication). Title of work: Capital letter also for subtitle. Location: Publisher.
Retrieve Thomas Kuhn's book and open to the copyright page that presents information on author, title, year of publication and publisher. From the format shown in step two, use the geographical location of the publishing house for citing that required information.
Complete the citation using the information gained from the copyright page. Using Paulo Freire's The Pedagogy of the Oppressed as an example, the full citation would be: Freire, Paulo. 2000. The Pedagogy of the Oppressed. London, Continuum Publishing Ltd.
Follow step 1. Then for citing sections within the book, follow the style-guide information presented. As in step 2 above, the information gained will serve as your format for transferring information about the book. Using APA format as an example, the format for citing segments within a book is: Author, A. A., (Year of publication). Title of chapter, Title of book (pages of chapter). Location: Publisher.
Retrieve Thomas Kuhn's book and open to the copyright page that presents information on author, title, year of publication and publisher. From the format shown in step two, use the geographical location of the publishing house for that required information. In addition, note the name of the chapter and the actual page numbers of the segment you wish to cite.
