University of Advanced Technology (UAT) is an online video game design school that offers bachelor's and associate degrees in video game programming. UAT operates a campus in Tempe, Arizona, but all of the classes are available online.
Undergraduate tuition as of 2010 is $9,400 per semester, according to the UAT website, but tuition for online courses is only $5,400. Scholarships are available for some students. Foreign students are required to pass a TOEFL test and complete a year of school at a regionally accredited college before attending UAT.

DeVry University offers a Bachelor of Science in Game and Simulation Programming to online students. The degree requires eight semesters of classes totaling 127 credit hours. Students near a DeVry University campus can elect to take some of the courses online and others at the school. The program offers courses in mathematics programming, game physics, design and artificial intelligence. DeVry University is accredited by the Higher Learning Institute, and many of the credits are transferable to other universities.

A game and simulation programming bachelor's degree is offered by Rasmussen College, both online and at certain campuses. Financial aid in the way of grants, student loans, scholarships and military discounts is available for students that qualify. Rasmussen College is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission and has campuses in five states. The program's final project is a complete game with 3D animation.

Game Institute is an online video game design school that offers a wide variety of courses, including C++ programming, graphics programming and game mathematics. Courses taken that finish with a proctored examination can be transferred to Excelsior College for course credit and may be transferable to other colleges as well or used as continuing education units (CEU) and personal development hours (PDH). The institute awards certificates for every completed course. Game Institute classes are taken entirely online and schedules can be designed around when the student is available (see Resources).
