These programs use more than 150 hours of teaching delivered via DVDs, published textbooks, guides, recipes, proprietary written materials and the website developed by the Guild for the exclusive use of its students. The Intensive Brewing Science and Engineering Program lasts for 22 weeks; the CBA lasts 27 weeks and includes a five-week apprenticeship to be performed with a brewer local to the student.
The Mac an Bhaird Brewery offers its own online brewing school. The school currently offers a single online course on all-grain brewing, and is in the process of expanding. Instructors grade assignments and offer feedback through email.
