The University of Maryland's MBA program was named "Most Outstanding Online Teaching and Learning Program" by the Sloan Consortium. It was also named "Outstanding eLearning Program" by the Instructional Technology Council. The program is designed for busy, working professionals specifically. Its objectives are to explore the evolving nature of corporations, blend leadership with change management, measure an organization's intellectual assets, combine product development with entrepreneurship and create new approaches to economic performance. Organizational and management processes are a theme throughout the program. This program features one 3-credit prerequisite course with seven 6-credit seminars. The seminars are 10 weeks long with three weeks off between seminars. Students are assigned to a cohort of 25 students that work together to achieve their MBA. The University of Florida offers the Internet MBA. This program is one of only two programs in the world to earn a top rating by The Economist in their "Which MBA?" Distance-Learning Special 2010 publication. It was one of the first schools to offer a fully accredited online degree. Students can participate in two different programs. The 2-year option is 27 months while the 1-year option is a 16-month accelerated program. Students must visit the Gainesville campus once per term -- every four months -- for a Saturday and Sunday. Courses in the program include marketing management, operations management, personal and corporate finance and a host of other courses. This program features students from all over the world. Class size is limited to 65 students.
Arizona State University's online MBA program is specifically designed for working professionals and focuses on providing a solid foundation and knowledgebase in business disciplines. The curriculum is case-based with a team oriented online learning environment. The program requires 48 credit hours and a Capstone Course, begins in January and concludes in July. It takes 22 months to complete. Courses in the program include managerial finance, strategic management, financial accounting, and organization theory and behavior. The Arizona State University MBA program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The University of Texas features an online MBA program that is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The program has been awarded a "Best Buy Award" in a survey of accredited AACSB distance learning MBA programs as well the 2001 Excellence in Distance Learning Programming - Higher Education Award according to The U.S. Distance Learning Association. Students will study accounting, finance administration, business law, economics, marketing, statistics and technology within the program and 48 semester credit hours are required to complete the program. Students must choose a home campus to apply to and eventually take two courses from that campus and so this online MBA program is recommended to Texas residents only. Courses in the program include marketing management, economic analysis, accounting analysis, and quantitative analysis in business.
