Sign up to take the GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test. Go to Gmat.org and sign-up early. You need to allow enough time for your schools of choice to receive the scores. There is a fee that you must pay to take the GMAT, but it is a required score that most accredited colleges need during admission process.

Choose a school that has a distance learning program. There are programs for weekends, online and distance learning, with classes being held once every six weeks at the college. Decide which of these programs is best for you. Focus on your qualifications and training in the information technology field on your application. When writing your essay, bring to light all of your achievements, as well as your future goals in the industry. If you have any transgressions, explain why these occurred, while showing how you overcame these struggles and used them as growth experiences.
Enroll in classes and attend all meetings online, submit your work on time, and complete all assignments by deadline. Be sure to show up for any in person class sessions and exams.
Work at an internship -- or gain employment in information technology -- to further your experience, while completing your distance MBA program. Your company may pay for your MBA training, or you may receive a promotion, once you have graduated.
