    Oregon Health & Science University

    • Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon is a state research institution and medical center. Founded in 1926, the school of nursing is nationally recognized. The online baccalaureate completion program is a joint project of OHSU and community colleges that are a part of the Oregon Consortium for Nursing Education (OCNE). Students from OCNE community colleges can begin the program after they earn their applied science degree in nursing. Students from non-OCNE schools must take a series of "transition" classes before beginning the curriculum. All students must be licensed RNs and live in the state or in counties that border Oregon in Idaho, Washington or California.

    University of Illinois at Chicago

    • The College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago ranks third nationally in research funding from the National Institutes of Health. UIC has a rolling application process. There is no residency requirement. All students must be licensed RNs. Classes last for eight weeks and most students take one course per term. Students without an associate degree must complete a series of prerequisites before beginning the UIC curriculum.
