The Best Online Psychology Degrees

Many colleges and universities offer completely online degree programs, but it can be difficult to know which ones are the best. In 2009, the Online Education Database ranked online degree-granting institutions. Rankings were based on four criteria including the school's accreditation status, inclusion in the federal government's College Navigator database, number of online subjects offered, and percentage of online-based degree programs available.
  1. Nova Southeastern University

    • Ranked number one by the Online Education Database, Nova Southeastern University offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology through its online program. Coursework includes classes in topics like cognition, biology, personality theory and research design. The BS degree requires 84 credits, 54 of which must be psychology-major requirement classes. Nova Southeastern University's online program uses a variety of instruction methods including real-time group discussions, asynchronous (or non-real-time) discussions on threaded discussion boards, and online submission of projects and assignments. Online students can access the school's Electronic Library with its online databases and full-text documents. Nova's online programs are certified by the Southern Regional Education Board.
