Distance Learning from Kingston University in the U.K.

Kingston University in the United Kingdom does not have a formal distance education program where students may obtain a degree from Kingston by taking all their classes online. What Kingston does offer is different partnerships with institutions worldwide, so that part, most or all of a program can be completed in your country of residence.
  1. Education Partners

    • Kingston's faculty and staff work with the faculty and staff of other institutions to develop courses, tutorials and workshops online. Then, students study and take classes online, but also take classes in person from the partner institution. For example, students who live in Seoul and want to study illustration and animation can work toward a master's degree by taking Kingston's classes online and by attending classes at the Froebel Institute in Seoul.

    Programs for International Students

    • Learn online and on campus.

Another way that Kingston partners with other educational institutions is by having students attend classes at their home-country institution, but also requiring that students complete classes at Kingston in the U.K. For one postgraduate program in education, students take intensive classes onsite at Kingston University, but then they follow up with a distance learning program by taking courses online when back in their country of origin. The partnering programs are configured in different ways for different subjects and will not all be the same in locations, format and delivery.

    Progression Route Partnerships

    • Kingston has established what it calls "progression route partnerships" with numerous institutions, colleges and universities within the U.K., Europe, Asia, and the Americas. On its website, Kingston provides a list of all overseas partners, the areas of study available and the name and contact information of an individual to find out more information about the progression route programs offered for your country. Both undergraduate and graduate programs are offered.

    The National Computing Centre

    • Kingston also partners with the National Computing Centre, a worldwide organization of information technology professionals. Its members contribute to best practices, professional development, online guides, support services, research opportunities and expert advice in the field of information technology. This progression route partnership offers programs in business, computing, information systems and mathematics and is located in the United Kingdom.
