St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia offers a master of science in homeland security. The master's program consists of seven required courses and four elective courses. The seven required or core classes are police executive management, technology for the police executive, disaster planning and management, hazard planning and evacuation, terrorist threats and strategies, homeland security, and case studies in homeland security. Students who already have a master's degree may complete six courses in homeland security and earn a post-master's certificate in homeland security. To earn a post-bachelor's certificate in homeland security, students must complete six of the seven required courses.
SJU also offers an online master's degree program in criminal justice with a specialization in homeland security. To earn the master's degree in criminal justice with a specialization in homeland security, students must complete four required courses in criminal justice, four required courses in homeland security and two elective courses. Also available online is a post-master's certificate program in homeland security. To earn the online post-master's certificate, students must complete six courses: forensic financial analysis, homeland security, sociology of disasters, terrorism, risk assessment, and an integrated capstone course in homeland security.

Rasmussen College offers an associate's degree and a bachelor's degree program in criminal justice with a specialization in homeland security at campuses in Minnesota, Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin, and North Dakota.
