• Colorado State University offers a Master of Applied Industrial/Organizational Psychology (MAIOP) that is delivered entirely online. Students do not have to complete any residency requirements like those that are required in some degree programs. The MAIOP requires 38 credit hours and emphasizes quantitative research as the major focus of the degree. Courses include studies in areas such as applied industrial psychology, applied psychological issues and methods, workforce training and development, cross-cultural industrial organization, succession planning and leadership development, applied measurement theory and applied psychological research methods.

Capella Univerisity

• Capella University also offers an online Master of Science in Psychology. The program is offered with an emphasis in industrial organizational psychology. Students at Capella complete classes on a quarter credit system; courses are shortened to 10 weeks and, therefore, accelerated. At Capella, students must complete 65 of these quarter credits. Areas of study included in the program include the history and systems of psychology, psychology practices in human resources and personnel development, lifespan development, research methods, principles of industrial and organizational psychology, consultation psychology, tests and measurements and learning theories in psychology.

• Northcentral University also offers a Master of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in industrial organizational psychology. The program focuses on basic research in the field with an eye towards application. In addition to core psychology courses, students must take a course with a focus in industrial psychology that emphasizes statistical studies of job analysis, teamwork and work motivation. Students must also take introductory courses in applied statistics and tests and measurements in industrial and organizational psychology.
