The University of Texas at El Paso offers an online master of science degree in the field of kinesiology. The program offers two different areas of specialization: exercise science and pedagogy of physical activities. All students, regardless of concentration, must complete core courses in the biomechanical basis of sports, research methods, statistics, motor learning and control and advanced exercise physiology. Students in the exercise science concentration take six additional hours in measurement techniques in biomechanics and exercise physiology. The remaining hours are in the form of electives and a master's thesis. Those pursuing the pedagogy concentration take courses in effective physical instruction and programs of physical activity.
