West Georgia Technical College in Douglasville, about 20 miles from Atlanta, offers a five-semester route to a dental hygiene associate of applied science (AAS) degree. Medix College in Symrna, about 11 miles from Atlanta, offers an associate degree in dental hygiene.
Georgia Highlands College in Rome offers a two-year, five-semester program for an associate degree in dental hygiene. Lanier Technical College and Gainesville State College, in Oakwood near Gainesville, jointly offer a two-year program for an AAS degree in dental hygiene. Athens Technical College in Athens offers a two-year program for an AAS degree in dental hygiene.
Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah offers two types of degrees for dental hygiene; one is a post-associate BSDH degree for those who already work as a dental hygienists; the other is an AAS degree in dental hygiene. The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta offers a two-year BSDH degree. It also offers a Master of Science in allied health for dental hygiene degree if you're looking to further your education. Southeastern Technical College's Vidalia Campus offers a two-year AAS degree in dental hygiene.
Middle Georgia Technical Institute in Warner Robins offers an AAS degree in dental hygiene. This is designed as a two-year, four-semester program with an additional nine-week summer session program. The on-site clinic allows for hands-on training. Central Georgia Technical College in Macon offers a two-year, 124-credit-hour curriculum concluding with an AAS degree in dental hygiene.
Columbus Technical College in Columbus offers an associate degree in dental hygiene, as does Darton College in Albany. Columbus requires two years of education and 124 credit hours for graduation. Darton requires four semesters and a summer session, totaling 64 credit hours, for graduation. Valdosta State University and Valdosta Technical College jointly offer a two-year AAS degree in dental hygiene. You must complete 44 credit hours of academic core course at VSU, while completing 48 credit hours of clinical, hands-on courses at VTC. Before being allowed to start clinical courses at VTC, you must complete 21 academic core hours at VSU.
