Phoenix College is the flagship institution within the Maricopa Community College system and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The dental department offers a program in dental hygiene. This program prepares students to become important members of a dental health team.
The dental hygiene program teaches students to use and maintain dental equipment and treat patients. The dental hygienist program educates students in dental anatomy, oral pathology, head and neck anatomy, dental diseases, anesthesia and pharmacology.

The college is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools and offers a dental assisting program. The Bryman School of Arizona was founded in 1982 and offers career opportunities in various medical program. These programs prepares graduates for jobs as x-ray technicians, surgical technologists, pharmacy technician, medical biller, medical assistant, massage therapist and dental assistant.
The Associate of Science Dental Assistant Program prepares students for entry-level positions in dental offices. The curriculum educates students in dental healthcare, ethics, office responsibilities and communication techniques. Once students complete the classroom portion of the program, they must participate in an externship within a local dental practice.
