    • Ranked second in the nation, the University of Pennsylvania Medical School was the first medical school in the nation and consistently ranks as one of the best. Students complete six modules, receiving training in the core principles of medicine; integrative systems and diseases; and the technology and practice of medicine. In addition, students participate in clerkships and internships, preparing them for their residency after graduation. As of 2010, tuition costs for the medical program at the University of Pennsylvania are approximately $42,000 per year. Financial aid and scholarships are available for students who qualify.

    Johns Hopkins University

    • Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is another school that is consistently ranked as one of the top medical schools in the country. Students at Johns Hopkins receive extensive education in the fields of health care, scientific foundations, anatomy, genetics, clinical pathology, and emergency medicine. In addition, students participate in fellowships, learning skills in the fields of surgery, pediatrics, ObGyn, neurology and psychiatry. During the first year, students may declare a specialty path and begin studying electives in those courses. As of the 2010-2011 academic year, costs for the medical school program are $39,500 per year. The school offers a full financial aid office to assist students with paying for their education.
