Minority Medical Colleges

Medical schools that educate a higher percentage of minorities are important not only because they offer educational opportunities to underrepresented sections of the population, but also because of the focused research they conduct into diseases and conditions that affect a disproportionate number of people from certain ethnic backgrounds. The medical schools emphasize producing physicians that can serve communities with shortages in health professionals and services.
