Schools With Juris Doctor Degrees

A juris doctor degree is a degree granted by a law school. The juris doctor is a professional degree for those who wish to practice law and typically takes three years of studying to obtain. To be eligible to attend a school with a juris doctor degree, a bachelor's degree and the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) are required. Admission is generally based on grade point average, LSAT score and the personal statement that prospective students send with the application. Schools generally post the 75th to 25th percentile of grade point averages and LSAT scores of current students.

    State Schools

    • State law schools are great for students who know in which state they would like to practice law. State law schools typically have the highest reputation in their own state and will prepare students for that state's bar examination. These schools also have lower tuition than private law schools. Admission into state law schools is generally not as competitive as admission to private law school.
