Contact the community college or training facility with which you'd like to develop the agreement. Review their curriculum to see how compatible it is with the four-year institute's curriculum. Create a general agreement with the community college or training facility that states you (the four-year college) and they will work together to establish common standards.
Review the curriculum of the community college or training facility. Mark any departments or programs that have similar standards and curricula as the four-year university. Make a note of any departments or programs that do not already align with the current standards at the four-year university.
Select the courses and programs from the community college or training facility that will be considered transferable to the four-year university. Amend or change any slight differences between the programs and curricula of the two educational entities seeking the agreement. This is called programmatic alignment and is necessary for establishing a common curriculum and common standards that are transferable.
Schedule a meeting with the director of academic and student affairs at the community college or training facility. Review the programmatic alignment together. Revise or amend anything necessary.
Finalize the agreement, and sign it—make sure that both parties sign the agreement. Write up a clear and accessible document that both parties can use to help students determine which credits are transferable.
