Possibly the most well-known college for fashion design, the Fashion Institute of Technology is located in the heart of New York City. Its notable alumni include fashion editors (Cand Pratts Price and Nina Garcia) as well as designers (Calvin Kline and Ralph Rucci). With possibly one of the most comprehensive undergraduate curricula in design, some of the programs are accessories design, toy design, illustration, textile development and marketing, fabric styling and of course fashion design. The school offers undergraduate and graduate programs. There are also pre-college programs and courses that can be taken by middle and high school students to help them learn and create portfolios.
