The Seattle Film Institute features complete programs in all aspects of filmmaking, along with two specific classes about video editing. Editing with Final Cut Pro covers the basics of the most popular editing program currently available for those working in digital video. Students learn how to make basic transitions (such as hard cuts, dissolves and wipes), how to work with sound and music and how to use titling and basic graphics. The Creative Side of Editing is a one-day seminar that focuses on editing theory. This includes learning how to edit dialogue and how to use audio techniques such as music, sound effects and voiceover. This seminar also involves analyses of "good cuts" in clips from ads, music videos, documentary films and features.
