Northern Virginia Community Colleges

Northern Virginia Community College, known as NOVA, consists of six campuses, two centers and opportunities for distance learning. NOVA is the second largest community college in the United States, serving more than 72,000 students. With these students coming from more than 180 countries, NOVA is one of the most diverse colleges in the United States.
  1. Alexandria Campus

    • Northern Virginia Community College, Alexandria Campus, located seven miles south of Washington, D.C., serves more than 17,000 students each year. This campus is known for its computer aided drafting and design program, motorcycle training program and English as a second language program.

    Annandale Campus

    • Northern Virginia Community College, Annandale Campus is located fourteen miles south of Washington, D.C. It serves more than 23,000 students each year. This campus is known for its fire science program, human resource management certificate program and forensic investigation certificate programs.

    Loudoun Campus

    • Northern Virginia Community College, Loudoun Campus, located in Sterling, serves more than 11,000 students each year. This campus is known for its programs in veterinary technology, horticulture, music recording technology and aviation training.

    Manassas Campus

    • Northern Virginia Community College, Manassas Campus, located next to the Manassas National Battlefield Park, serves more than 10,000 students each year. This campus is known for its programs in early childhood education and automotive technology and for courses targeted at students who are ages 50 and older.

    Medical Education Campus

    • Northern Virginia Community College, Medical Education Campus, located in Springfield, serves more than 3,500 students each year. There are associate degree programs offered for nursing, medical laboratory technology, physical therapist assistant, radiography-diagnostic imaging, diagnostic medical sonography, respiratory therapy, health information management, dental hygiene and emergency medical services. In addition to the degree programs, there are a number of certificate programs offered.

    Arlington Center

    • Northern Virginia Community College, Arlington Center offers classes targeted at students in the workforce, such as the "Rush Hour Classes" and hybrid courses that combine traditional classes and online learning. It is known for its business administration, information technology and health technologies programs.

    Reston Center

    • Northern Virginia Community College, Reston Center is located in Reston. As of early 2010, it was part of the Loudoun Campus. This center offers academic classes, continuing education classes and personal interest courses to students.

    Extended Learning Institute

    • Northern Virginia Community College, Extended Learning Institute offers online courses, telecourses and virtual hybrid courses. These courses are structured much like traditional classroom courses, with instructions and assignments.
