The Academic Technical Center location, near I-220 at Sunset Drive, offers courses in culinary arts, business, environmental technology, drafting and design. Students can also earn credits in English, history, biology and mathematics. Child care is provided on site.
At the Nursing/Allied Health Center students can train to become a nurse, nursing assistant, unit service clerk or first responder, and emergency medical technicians can take refresher courses. Courses are also offered in medical transcription and phlebotomy.
The Rankin Campus provides more than 140 academic, 15 technical and three career programs. It offers morning and night classes and serves the largest population of commuter students in the Hinds Community College system. Rankin recently added an associate's degree nursing program to its curriculum.
With its wide choice of student organizations, sports events and dormitories, Raymond provides a campus experience usually available only at a four-year liberal arts college. In its state-of-the-art electrical technology lab, students are trained to install, maintain and repair industrial and residential electrical systems.
A five-year National Science Foundation grant to the Utica Campus, which has existed for 100 years, will promote the pursuit of' careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Utica's academic offerings are constantly evolving. It even offers transportation to the campus for enrolled students in the surrounding area.
Vicksburg/Warren's diverse career programs include welding, electricity and computer technology. Its hybrid classes provide students with the option to do their course work both online and in the classroom. Students can receive college credit for classes taken at Vicksburg/Warren while they are still in high school.
