Schools for Anesthesiologist Assistants

Anesthesiologist assistants work under the direction of anesthesiologists to develop and implement anesthesia care plans. According to the American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants, there are minimal educational programs for anesthesiologist assistants. Three of them are located at Case Western Reserve University, Emory University School of Medicine and Nova Southeastern University. Each program follows a master's degree model and requires two full academic years to complete.
  1. Case Western Reserve University

    • The master of science in anesthesiology degree program at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, includes 63 credit hours of classroom and clinical instruction. In the final three semesters, students complete monthlong rotations in all subspecialties--ambulatory surgery, burns and trauma, cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery, obstetrics, pediatrics and the surgical intensive care unit.
