Delta College has four campuses, two of which are located in St. Tammany Parish. Its Covington Campus offers degree programs that lead to careers as a medical or dental assistant, a massage therapist, a medical office specialist or an LPN. The city of Covington is located in the western section of the parish.
Delta College's Slidell Campus also offers degrees to become a massage therapist, an LPN, a medical assistant or medical office specialist. Slidell is located on the northern side of Lake Pontchartrain.
Delgado Community College is based in New Orleans, and has developed branches in various locations in the area. This includes a branch on the Northshore. A student couldn't get a degree only by attending one of Delgado's satellite branches. However, St. Tammany students have privileges at the other branches.
One of Delgado's St. Tammany branches is located in the city of Slidell. Fittingly, the branch is called Northshore-Slidell. The branch includes a library and a computer lab. Most courses offered at the branch are in business or arts and sciences.
The Northshore-Covington campus offers coursework in culinary arts, allied health, horticulture and early childhood education, along with general education courses.
Delgado Community College has "linked" with Louisiana Technical College, which has locations peppering Louisiana, to offer classes to students in St. Tammany Parish. Louisiana Tech offers occupational diplomas and certificates that take about a year--sometimes less--to complete.
Louisiana Technical College also offers Associate of Applied Science degrees. The St. Tammany campus is located in Slidell.
Southeastern Louisiana University is located in Tangipahoa Parish in Hammond Louisiana, but the school has opened what is called the St. Tammany Center. You can't complete a degree at this campus. Still, you can move forward with your coursework, taking classes in general education. The center has two computer labs and 15 classrooms. The center has free wireless Internet.
