Self-proclaimed as one of the most affordable educations in the state, Georgia Perimeter College educates more than 25,000 students each year and several campuses around metro Atlanta. In addition to core classes like math, English and sciences, students also can study foreign languages, communication, criminal justice and education, among other degree programs. Although the college's first campus is in Clarkston, which opened in 1964, it also has other campuses in Alpharetta, Covington, Decatur and Dunwoody and offers some courses in Conyers and Roswell and online. In addition to undergraduate courses, the college presents continuing education classes and registers high school students through its dual enrollment program.

Although named as such, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College offers more than agricultural classes. Typically students take core classes in English, math, science and social studies at the south Georgia campus and then head to a four-year institution. Students complete business, early childhood education, agricultural, nursing and other two-year programs at the campus. The campus also features intercollegiate sports in baseball, tennis and golf, among others, and music and performing arts programs.

About 8,000 students across Georgia and elsewhere enjoy classes on the northeast Georgia campus.
