Mercer University was founded in 1833 and recent enrollment stands at 8100, with half at the undergraduate level. The college was founded by Southern Baptists, but maintains no formal affiliation with that denomination. Mercer University offers degrees in a range of disciplines from Liberal Arts to Business to Law. Mercer University also has campuses in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia.

Central Georgia Technical College was founded in 1962 as the Macon Area Vocational-Technical School. The college has evolved considerably since then, and obtained its present name in 2000. The college offers many different programs across different disciplines. These include the Public Services, which offers cosmetology, barbering, and criminal justice programs; and Trade and Industrial, which offers Air Conditioning, automotive, carpentry, and construction management programs.

Wesleyan College was founded in 1836 in association with the Methodist Episcopal Church, and started life as a school exclusively for Women. Wesleyan College offers only a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in more than 30 different fields including Accounting, Art History, Biology, Economics or History.
The college also offers a dual Bachelor of Arts and Engineering degree in association with the Georgia Institute of Technology, Auburn University, and Mercer University. On the Graduate level, the college offers a Masters of Education and an Executive MBA program.
Wesleyan College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and is open to women only at the undergraduate level and is coed at the graduate school level.
