St. Francis College offers a degree in Health Promotion and & Sciences. Fitness, exercise, nutrition, stress management and leisure activities are addressed, as they affect well-being.
The program is a combination of classroom instruction and practical experiences such as internships with Central Brooklyn Medical Group, St. Francis Athletic Department, Method Hospital and the American Cancer Society. Minors and majors such as psychology or sports medicine enhance the flexibility of the program.
Graduates can attend graduate or professional programs. These programs include nursing, nutrition, public health, physical therapy and nursing. Career opportunities include positions in nursing homes, schools, clinics, hospitals and community health agencies.
St. Francis College has served greater New York City for 150 years. Merit scholarships are awarded to deserving candidates and can pay full tuition.
The college's Department of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

The School of Health Science and Practice of New York Medical College (NYMC) is in the Westchester suburbs of New York City. The school offers both health care professionals and traditional students a varied series of classroom and field experiences. Returning professionals include researchers, analysts, administrators and clinicians working in such areas as biotechnology, pharmaceutical companies and public agencies.
The faculty is composed of members in health systems, county health departments and local, national, and international agencies. The faculty brings expertise in health care areas ranging from disaster preparedness to environmental safety.
The Institute of Public Health at NYMC contributes to the public by working to preserve the rights of citizens with disabilities, improve community health, improve disaster preparedness, examine the quality of medical outcomes and assist local agencies.
Full-time clinical students may elect the path to speech pathologist or physical therapist.
The School of Health Science and Practice is chartered by the Regents of the State of New York. The school is accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Council on Education on Public Health and the Committee on Accreditation on Physical Therapy Education, among others.

The Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development of New York University (NYU) offers a variety of programs and majors to a diverse student population. The school has seven health programs: 1) communicative sciences and disorders; 2) food studies; 3) nutrition and dietetics; 4) occupational therapy; 5) physical therapy; 6) public health; and 7) speech-language pathology and audiology.
