Your book report cover page needs to indicate the title and author of that book. Put the name of the book toward the top of your first page, centered. On the next line, type the author's name. The next line gives the type of book, or genre, such as science fiction or autobiography. Other information often appearing on the cover page includes the publisher, year of publication and number of pages. Such a cover page might look like this, centered:
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Author: J.K. Rowling
Genre: Fantasy
Published by: Scholastic Books, 2000, 341 pages
Put your name in the upper-right corner of the cover page followed by the class and teacher's name on the next line.
Your teacher may request that you format your cover page in Modern Language Association or American Psychological Association style. In MLA style, the title of the book, author and other publishing information should be centered in the middle of the page. The name of your school should be centered at the top of the page. Your name, the course name and number, the professor's name and the due date should be centered at the bottom of the page. APA format includes a running head centered at the top of the page with a page number. The running head should include the words "Running Head" and a colon before the title of the book. The rest of the information should be centered in the upper half of the page.
