The bachelor's degree program in architecture at Syracuse University is a five-year program that leads to a professional degree. The curriculum consists of coursework in structural design, the history of architecture and real estate design. During the fifth-year, students work on a thesis project with a faculty adviser. Courses are taught by professors who are practicing architects. Additionally, visiting architects from outside the U.S. teach selected courses every semester, providing students with a global perspective to the field. Prospective students submit a creative portfolio of up to 20 original pieces of artwork, such as drawings or photographs.
