Loma Linda University's School of Nursing has an accelerated BSN program for students who already have a BA or a BS in another area. Students must have completed a list of prerequisite courses which include introduction to physics, anatomy and physiology, sociology, public speaking, microbiology and nine credit hours of English composition before enrollment. Loma Linda also has a fast track to a master of science in nursing for students who have a BA/BS degree in another field, with the same prerequisites. Students must have a minimum of a 3.3 cumulative grade point average in prerequisite classes in order to qualify for the accelerated programs.

Seton Hall University in New Jersey has two second degree nursing programs. One is an accelerated program which can be completed in 14 months. The standard program can be finished in 22 months. The accelerated course is offered in tandem with Georgian Court University and students must take classes at the Georgian Court campus in Lakewood. The 22-month course, however, is taught at Seton Hall's main campus in South Orange. Classes include instruction in adult and pediatric nursing, psychiatric nursing and community health. The nursing program finishes with clinical hours. Nursing students need obtain CPR certification, a criminal background check and a health form. They must also get professional liability and malpractice insurance.

Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee has a fast-track BSN program for those who already have a four-year degree. The course can be finished in sixteen months if the student is studying full time. Prerequisite courses include advanced math, abnormal psychology, nutrition, six credit hours in religion, life span development, human anatomy and either general biology or microbiology. These courses must be finished before beginning the accelerated program. Students are required to have completed their science and math coursework with at least a 3.0 GPA.
