The University of Wollongong in Dubai boasts as being one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the United Arab Emirates. It was founded in 1993 as part of the University of Wollongong in Australia. The school provides a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees that are directly related to the human resource needs of Dubai and the UAE as a whole. While many of the students at Wollongong are from Australia or the UAE, the student body includes students over a hundred different nationalities.

The British University in Dubai is currently located in the Knowledge Village, but will be moving to Dubai International Academic City in January of 2011. BUiD was established in 2004 as the first research-based postgraduate university in the Middle East. The school has partnerships with many United Kingdom universities, including the University of Edinburgh, the University of Manchester and the University of Birmingham. BUiD was established as a not-for-profit university and was founded by the Al Maktoum Foundation, along with the Dubai Development and Investment Authority, the National Bank of Dubai, the British Business Group and Rolls Royce.

Eton's first priority is languages. The institute teaches over 100 languages at its Knowledge Village campus. Eton also offers training for teachers who wish to work internationally. They offer a host of certifications for teachers on site and guarantee job placement for their top graduates at the institute. Eton also teaches interactive workshops to enhance student computer skills. Workshops are on topics such as website design, Microsoft Office and image enhancement.
