Founded in 1990, American College of Dubai can be found in the Garhoud area of Dubai, where it established its permanent residence in 1998. Accreditation for the college has been obtained through a United Arab Emirate body, the Commission for Academic Accreditation, an agency of the U.A.E. Ministry of Higher Education. Established primarily as a business school, the bachelor of business administration serves as the primary undergraduate offering. Other programs of study can, however, be taken through the school in preparation for transfer to another academic institution to complete the last two years of study. Most major academic disciplines can be studied following the completion of these general education requirements. The school does offer one other program that can lead to the international U.K.-based designation of a certified chartered accountant.
